"Four-person" is the maker's word, not a standard: one maker's four sit upright side by side, another's stretch out on two tiers. What you can compare is the outside size, which decides whether the sauna fits your room or your yard, and the power, which decides the circuit and the running cost. Here are all 27 saunas sold for four (or a range that includes four) with published outside dimensions, smallest floor first.

Reading the footprint
- Floor area is outside width x depth / 144 [calc]: what the sauna covers, not the room inside. Add 4 inches on each side for the wall gap most makers ask for indoors.
- Barrels are listed with their length including any canopy or porch.
- Interior: few pages print it. Redwood Outdoors prints the interior volume (169.6 cu ft for its 4-person Cabin, 156.4 cu ft for the 4-person Retreat indoor); Almost Heaven prints interior dimensions on most pages.
Check your room with will it fit (set "people" to 4), then the circuit with the panel check. All sizes: the home sauna comparison.
Frequently asked questions
How big is a 4-person sauna?
In our check, from about 28 to about 100 sq ft of floor [calc]. The smallest is an indoor traditional cabin, the Redwood Outdoors Retreat (52 x 76.4 in); 4-person infrared cabins from Sunlighten and Sun Home take about 80 x 56 in; barrels for four start at 78 x 71 in (Almost Heaven Pinnacle); the Almost Heaven Solide Compact outdoor cabin, sold for 4 to 6, covers about 100 sq ft. The table lists each one.
How high is a 4-person sauna?
Indoor cabins for four print about 77 to 80 inches outside; barrels 75 to 90 inches; outdoor cabins with a pitched roof up to 107 inches (Almost Heaven Solide Compact). Add the gap above that the maker asks for (12 inches for Sun Home cabins) before comparing with your ceiling.
What heater size for a 4-person sauna?
The makers choose it with the room: in our check, 4-person traditional saunas come with 6 kW (Almost Heaven Pinnacle, Rainelle; Redwood Outdoors Cabin and Retreat) or 8 kW heaters (Almost Heaven Essex, Grayson, Oasis). Infrared cabins for four are rated 2,750 W (Sunlighten Signature IV) to 5,300 W (Sun Home Eclipse 4, Peak El Capitan).
